This recording was sent to the mailbox of Corrector Records after the members of Slow Loris had been missing for over a year. It was discovered through the efforts of BBC investigative journalist Elizabeth Sanders that the last person outside their group to have any contact with them was Bob Tugak, a resident of Iqualuit, Nunavut who runs a small airfield outside of the largest municipality on Baffin Island. He said the group chartered a plane to fly them to Alert, a small military and research oriented settlement on Ellesmere Island (as well as the northernmost permanently inhabited settlement in the world). It is thought that the group may have recorded on the island, and were for some reason unable to return home once they had completed it. Sanders' investigation has taken her to Alert, where she hopes to discover what has become of the members of Slow Loris.

Formed from the ashes of the 70s Romanian cosmo-synth duo Vernacula and psychedelic krautrock outfit Schimmern, Slow Loris was founded as an idea of "music without time or place". The members travelled with their equipment and producer Frederic Magellan to Ellesmere Island, where they wrote and recorded these songs, which were delivered to the media by post.
